the root of 2 is 2 so 1+x = 2-2x so the answer is 3

$1 + x = \sqrt{2} (1 - x) \: find \: x$

$1 + x = \sqrt{2} - \sqrt{2x}$

$1 + x = 2 \times 2 - 2 x\times 2x$

$1 + x = 4 - 4x$

$1 - 4 = - 4x - x$

$- 3 = - 5x$

cutting out the "minus sign"

$3 = 5x$

$x = \frac{5}{3}$
