the root of 2 is 2 so 1+x = 2-2x so the answer is 3

1 + x =  \sqrt{2} (1 - x) \: find \: x

1 + x =  \sqrt{2}  -  \sqrt{2x}

1 + x = 2 \times 2 - 2 x\times 2x

1 + x = 4 - 4x

1 - 4 =  - 4x - x

 - 3 =   - 5x

cutting out the "minus sign"

3 = 5x

x =  \frac{5}{3}
