To find:

The rise in its levels in cm

Solution:

The volume of sand spread uniformly in the rectangular plot = 10.8 m³

The dimensions of the rectangular plot:

Length = 9 m

Breadth = 4 m

∴ The area of the rectangular plot = length × breadth = 9 × 4 = 36 m²

Now,

Volume of the sand spread = [Area of the rectangular plot] × [Rise in height]

⇒ 10.8 = 36 × Rise in height

⇒ Rise in height = \frac{10.8}{36}

⇒ Rise in height = 0.3 m

we know → 1 m = 100 cm

⇒ Rise in height = 0.3 × 100 cm

Rise in height = 30 cm

Thus, the rise in its levels is → 30 cm.
