If 10 men, working 7 hours a day dig a trench 147 m long, how many men working 8 hours a day will dig a trench 168 m long (of the same breadth and depth as the first in the same number of days) ? ​

Working 7 hours a day 147 m long trench can be dug by = 10 men.

Working 1 hour a day 147 m long trench can be dug by = 10*7

Working 1 hour a day 1 m long trench can be dug by = (10*7)/147

Working 8 hours a day 1 m long trench can be dug by = (10*7)/(147*8)

Working 8 hours a day 160 m long trench can be dug by = (10*7*160)/(147*8)

= 11200/1176

= 9.523  

As the men cannot be in decimal or fraction, so, the answer is 10 men.
