If 14, 42 and x are in continued proportion, find the value of x

\huge{\underline{\underline{\tt{Solution :-}}}}

The numbers is the continued proportion are in the form of \dfrac{a}{b} = \dfrac{b}{c}

Here, a = 14, b = 42 and c = x

\dfrac{14}{42} = \dfrac{42}{x}

Cross multiply

☛ 14x = 42 × 42

Multiply

☛ 14x = 1764

Divide both the sides by 14

∴ x = 126

∴ The value of x is \boxed{\boxed{\tt{126}}}
