GIVEN :-

  • If 14 is subtracted from a number and multiplied by 7 gives the product as 98

TO FIND :-

  • The number

SOLUTION :-

Let the number be 'x'

If 14 is subtracted from the number then the number becomes (x - 14 )

According to the question ,

 \implies \sf \: (x - 14)7 = 98 \\  \\  \implies \sf \: (x - 14) =  \frac{98}{7}  \\  \\  \implies \sf \: (x - 14) = 14 \\  \\  \implies \sf \: x = 14 + 14 \\  \\  \implies  {\underline{\bold {\boxed {\blue  {\sf { \: x = 28}}}}}}

∴ The Number is 28

VERIFICATION :-

By substituting the x as 28 in the equation ,

 \implies \sf \: (x - 14)7 = 98 \\  \\  \implies \sf \: (28 - 14)7 = 98 \\  \\  \implies \sf \: (14)7 = 98 \\  \\  \implies \sf \: 98 = 98  \\  \\  \implies \sf \: LHS = RHS

\sf\underline\red{Given\:that:-}

If a number 14 subtracted from a certain number and the result is multiplied by 7 ,then its product is 98

\sf\underline\blue{To\:find:-}

  • The number

\sf\underline\orange{Solution:-}

First of all,Let us take the number as x.

Then It is given that 14 is subtracted from the number.

Therefore,The number will be =(x-14)

Now,A/Q

\sf{↦(x-14)×7=98}

\sf{↦(x-14)=}\frac{98}{7}

\sf{↦x-14=14}

\sf{↦x=14+14}

\sf{↦x=28}

Therefore the number is 28.

\sf\fbox\green{Verification:-}

\sf{(x-14)7=98}

Putting the value.

↦(28-14)7=98

↦14×7=98

↦98=98

Hence,the both sides are equal , Therefore the answer is verified.
