Solution :

15% of 40 = 0.15(40) = 6

25% of a number say x = 0.25x

given,

6 = 0.25x + 2

4 = 0.25x

x = 16

therefore the number is 16

Hope that helps

let the nos be x

ATP

15 /100 *40 > 25 /100 *x

15 /100 *40 *100/25 >25/100 *100/25 *x     [both sides multipling by 100/25 by applying the rule of  inequality]

15*40 /25  > x

24 > x

the number must be greater  than  24  or [25, 26,27, ..............] ANS

note u can do this without applying inequality rule also by changing only the bold part to ...

15 /100 *40 *100/25 > *x
