in a right angle triangle , the hypotenuse is the longest side .

considering 5 as the hypotenuse and 2 & 4 as the other sides , we get

(2)² + (4)² = (5)²

but

4 + 16 ≠ 25

So , ( 2 , 4 & 5 ) is not a Pythagorean triplet .

Step-by-step explanation:

If it would ne a triplet then the square of thrid number is equal to the sum of square of other two sides

(5)^2 = (4)^2 + (2)^2

25 = 16 + 4

25 = 20

Here 20 is not equal to 25. so we can say that 2,4,5 is not a Pythagorean triplet
