Given :   2 & 0 are the zeroes of the polynomial f(x)=2x-5 x2 +ax +b

To Find : the value of a and b

Solution:

polynomial f(x)=2x-5x² +ax +b

2 & 0 are the zeroes of the polynomial f(x

=> f(2) = f(0) = 0

f(0) = 0

=>  0 - 0 + 0 + b = 0

=> b = 0

f(x)=2x-5 x² +ax +b

b = 0

=> f(x)=2x-5 x² +ax

f(2)   = 0

=> 2(2) - 5(2)²  + a(2) = 0

=> 4 - 20 + 2a = 0

=> 2a  = 16

=> a = 8

Hence a = 8  , b = 2

if f(x) = x² + ax + b

Then 0 + 0 + b = 0

=> b = 0

2²  + 2a + 0 = 0

=> a  = - 2

Then a = - 2 and b = 0
