it is given that 2 and -1/2 as the sum and product of its zeros respectively.

So the sum of zeros  = \alpha + \beta = 2 and ,

The product of zeros = \alpha\beta = -1/2

Then the quadratic equation is ,

x^{2} - (  \alpha + \beta )x + ( \alpha \beta )

x^{2} - ( 2 )x + ( -1/2 )

x^{2} - 2x - 1/2

hence the the quadratic polynomial f(x) =  x^{2} - 2x - 1/2
