If 2 and1/2 are the zeroes of the polynomial ax2 + 5x + b, show that a = b.​

therefore, P(2)=0,P(1/2)=0

P(2)= a(2)^2+5(2)+b=0

4a+10+b=0

4a+b=-10 --------(i)

P(1/2)= a(1/2)^2+5(1/2)+0=0

a/4+5/2+b=0 ----------------------(ii)

on multiplying equation(ii) by 4

a+10+4b=0

a+4b=-10------------------(iii)

by equation (i)&(iii)

4a+b=a+4b

so, -3a=-3b

a=b
