If 2 is a root of the quadratic equation x2 - 5x + k = 0, what is the value of k?

Given Quadratic equation is

x² - 5x + k = 0

and 2 is a root of above equation.

Therefore ,

we substitute x = 2 , in the equation,

we get

2² - 5 × 2 + k = 0

=> 4 - 10 + k = 0

=> -6 + k = 0

=> k = 6
