Given :-

  • Quadratic polynomial p(x) = kx² - 2x + k
  • 2 is a zero of the given polynomial.

To Find :-

  • Value of K

Solution :-

\qquad☀️We know that , if x = a is a zero of a polynomial p(x) , then p(a) = 0 .It’s given, x = 2 is a zero of the given quadratic polynomial.

\qquad\small\underline{\pmb{\sf \:According \: to \: the \: question :-}}

\qquad\leadsto\quad \pmb  {\mathfrak{ p(2) = 0 }}\\

\qquad\leadsto\quad \pmb  {\mathfrak{ k \times 2² - 2\times 2 + k = 0 }}\\

\qquad\leadsto\quad \pmb  {\mathfrak{ 4k - 4 + k = 0 }}\\

\qquad\leadsto\quad \pmb  {\mathfrak{ 5k - 4 = 0 }}\\

\qquad\leadsto\quad \pmb  {\mathfrak{5k = 4 }}\\

\qquad\leadsto\quad \pmb  {\mathfrak{ k = \dfrac{4}{5}  }}\\

\therefore\:\underline{\textsf{Value of k  is  \textbf{ 4/5 }}}.\\\\
