SOLUTION

f(x) = ax² - 3(a - 1)x - 1

Zero = 2 ( given )

Since, 2 is the zero of the polynomial f(x):

° f(2) = 0

=> a(2)² - 3(a-1)×2 - 1 = 0

=> 4a - 6a + 6 - 1 = 0

=> -2a = -5

=> 2a = 5

=> a = 5 ÷ 2

=> a = 5/2

Given:

2 is a zero of the polynomial

F(x)= ax^2-3(a-1)x-1

so 2 satisfy the polynomial

put x = 2

=>a(2)^2-3(a-1)2-1=0

=>4a-3(2a-2)-1=0

=>4a-6a+6-1=0

=>-2a=-5

=>a=5/2
