As 2 is a zero of the polynomial, x=2 satisfies the equation 2x^{2}+px-14=0 \\
\implies 2 (2)^{2}+p (2)-14=0 \\
\implies (2 \times 4)+2p=14 \\
\implies 8+2p=14 \\
\implies 2p=6\\
\implies p=3
