Let us consider the cloth required for each pair of trousers to be x

That way, the total amount of cloth required for 24 trousers = 24x

According to the question,

24x = 54

x = \frac{54}{24} metres

x = \frac{9}{4} = 2\frac{1}{4} metres

Ans) The length of cloth required for each pair of trousers = 2\frac{1}{4} metres
