Answer:

so first add both equation and after subtract botn.

so let's first add

29x +31y = 751

31x + 29y = 749

------------------------------

60x + 60y= 1500 (1)

secondly subtract both

29x +31y = 751

- 31x + 29y =749

_________________

-2x + 2y = 2 (2)

by the elimination method

multiply 2 equation by 30

30 ( -2x + 2y ) = 30(2)

now

add both equation

60x+60y = 1500

+ (-60x ) + 60y = 60

________________

0 + 120y = 1560

___________________

now 120y = 1560

y = 1560/ 120

= 13

and the value of x is -2x + 2(13) = 2

-2x = 2-26

x = -24/-2

= 12

x-y= ?

12 -13 = -1

this the answer of your questions.
