2x + 3y = 2 \: and \: x - 2y = 8 \\ 2x + 3y = 2 \: \: \: \: (1) \\ x - 2y = 8 \: \: \: \: (2) \\ multiplying(1) \: by \: 2 \: and \: (2) by \: 3 \\ 4x + 6y = 4 \\ 3x - 6y = 24 \\ 7x = 28 \\ x = \frac{28}{7 } \\ x = 4 \\ putting \: x \: value \: in \: eqution \: (2) \\ x - 2y = 8 \\ (4) - 2y = 8 \\ 4 - 2y = 8 \\ - 2y = 8 - 4 \\ - 2y = 4 \\ y = \frac{4}{ - 2} \\ y = - 2 \\ hence \: x = 4 \: \: and \: y = - 2

hope it will help you
