If 2x+y=9 and 3x-y=6, find the value of x

Elimination method is used here :-

2x+y = 9.... (i)

+3x-y = 6.... (ii)

------------------

5x = 15

=>x = 15/5 = 3

Now ,

Substituting x = 3 in equation (i).

2 x 3 + y = 9

=>6+y = 9

=>y =9-6 = 3

.: x+y = 3+3 = 6.

Hi Mate!!!

2x +y = 9.... equation 1

3x - y = 6

-y = 6 -3x

y = 3x -6

Now, put value of y in equation 1

2x + 3x -6 = 9

5x = 15

x = 3..
