3+1/2 litre cost= Rs.270+3/8
1 litre cost=Rs.270+3/8÷3+1/2
4 litre cost=(Rs.270+3/8÷3+1/2)*4
=Rs. (2163/8)*(2/7)*4
=Rs. 309, is the answer

Answer:

Rs.309

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : 3\frac{1}{2} liter of petrol costs rs 270\frac{3}{8}

To Find: find the cost of 4 liter

Solution:

3\frac{1}{2} = \frac{7}{2}

270\frac{3}{8} = \frac{2163}{8}

So, Cost of \frac{7}{2} liter petrol = Rs.\frac{2163}{8}

Cost of 1 liter petrol = Rs.\frac{\frac{2163}{8}}{\frac{7}{2}}

                                  = Rs.\frac{309}{4}

So, Cost of 4 liter petrol =  Rs.\frac{309}{4} \times 4  =Rs. 309

Hence the cost of 4 liter petrol is Rs.309
