Answer :

Given that,

(3 - a + b, b) = (5, - 4)

Comparing both sides, we get

b = - 4 .....(i)

3 - a + b = 5

or, 3 - a - 4 = 5

or, - 1 - a = 5

or, a = - 1 - 5

or, a = - 6

Thus, the value of a is (- 6)
