If 3 balls are randomly drawn from a bowl containing 6 white and 5 black balls, what is the probability that one of the balls is white and the other two are black?​

Given : 3 balls are randomly drawn from a bowl containing 6 white and 5 black balls

To Find : probability that one of the balls is white and the other two are black?​

Solution:

White = 6

Black = 5

Total = 6 + 5 = 11

3  out of 11 can be selected in  ¹¹C₃   =  165  ways

one of the balls is white and the other two are black  

one white ball out of 6 can be selected in ⁶C₁ = 6 ways

2 black balls out of 5 can be selected in ⁵C₂= 10 ways

Total ways of drawing one white and 2 black = 6 * 10 = 60

probability that one of the balls is white and the other two are black = 60/165

= 12/33

= 4/11

4/11 is the  probability that one of the balls is white and the other two are black
