Given :  one zero of the quadratic polynomial (k - 1)x²+ kx + 1 is -3,

To find : the value of k

Solution:

quadratic polynomial (k - 1)x²+ kx + 1

-3 is one zero

Hence substituting k = - 3 will result into zero

(k - 1)(-3)²+ k(-3)+ 1  = 0

=> 9(k - 1) -3k + 1 = 0

=> 9k - 9 - 3k + 1 = 0

=> 6k  = 8

=> 3k = 4

=> k = 4/3

Value of k = 4/3
