If -3 is a zero of polynomial p(x) ;

p(-3) = 3 (-3){}^{2} + k(-3)+ 6

-3 =  27 - 3k + 6

- 3 = 33 - 3k

3k = 33 + 3

3k = 36

k = 36 / 3

k = 12

k = 12
