If 3 men can do the work in 2 days and 4 boys can do the same work in 6 days,then in 0.6 days the work will be completed by 8 men and 8 boys.

4 boys can do a work in 6 days.

∴ 1 boy can do the work in (4 × 6) = 24 days

To do the work in 24 days, we require 1 boy.

To do the work in 1 day, we require (1 × 24) = 24 boys.

To do the work in 2 days, we require (24 ÷ 2) = 12 boys.

Also, to do the same work in 2 days, we require 3 men.

So, 3 men = 12 boys.

⇒ 1 man = 4 boys.                                                                     ...(1)

Now we need to the work using 8 men and 8 boys.

We know the work done by 8 boys = work done by (8 ÷ 4) = 2 men [From (1)]

∴ We need to find work done by 8 men and 2 men = 10 men

As stated earlier in the question, 3 men can do a work in 2 days, so,

1 man can do it in (3 × 2) = 6 days.

And, for 10 men it is (6 ÷ 10) days = (0.6 ×24) hours = 14.4 hours

So, 8 men and 8 boys can do the work in 14.4 hours or 0.6 days
