HEY....

SEE..

3X+7Y=78
AND
X+3Y=32

NOW MULTIPLY EQN 2 BY 3....

3X+9Y=96

SUBSTRACT 1 FROM TWO....

3X+9Y=96
-3X+7Y=78
__________
2Y=18

Y =9

SO PUT Y=9IN EQN 1

3X+7*9=78

3X=78-63

3X=15

X=15/3

X=5

SO 2X+Y=5*2+9

.....10+9

.......19

HOPE IT IS HELPFUL ☺❤

Given:

3X + 7Y = 78

X + 3Y = 32

To find:

2X + Y

Solution:

X + 3Y = 32

Multiplying by 3,

3X + 9Y = 96

Equating and solving for Y,

3X + 9Y = 96

3X + 7Y = 78

Cancelling X terms,

2Y = 18

Hence,

Y = 9

Substituting,

X + 3 ( 9 ) = 32

X + 27 = 32

Hence,

X = 5

So,

2 ( 5 ) + 9

Hence, 19.
