Since, (3k + 1, 2k - 5), is a solution. So, x = 3k + 1 and y = 2k - 5.

Now, solve

2x - y + 66 = k

k = 2 (3k + 1) - 2k - 5 + 66

k = 6k + 2 - 2k - 5 + 66

k = 4k + 63

4k - k = 63

3k = 63

k = \frac{63}{3}

k = 21
