3x+2y=12
(3x+2y)^2=12^2
(3x)^2+(2y)^2+2*3*2xy=144
9x^2+4y^2+12*12=144
9x^2+4y^2=144-144=0

3x+2y=12,xy=12
squaring both sides
(3x+2y)^2=(12)^2
9x^2+4y^2+12xy=144
9x^2+4y^2+12(12)=144
9x^2+4y^2=144-144
9x^2+4y^2=0
