3x + 4 y = 12

xy = 4

=>9x² + 16 y² = (3x)² + (4y)² .........(1)

=> As a²+ b² = (a + b) ² -2ab

So, (1) becomes

=>(3x) ² + (4y)² => (3x +4y )² - 2*3x*4y

=> 12² ⁻24*4
=> 144 - 86
=>58

SIRGERARD10: Ye (3x + 4y)^2 = 12^2 kaise aaya
SIRGERARD10: batao na
GauravGumber: as 3x + 4y is 12
GauravGumber: put it equals 12 and xy =4
SIRGERARD10: galat hai tera answer 48 hai answer
GauravGumber: haa second last step m 24 * 4 = 96 tha ,
GauravGumber: aur 144 - 96 = 48 which is right answer
