3x - 7 = 17 \\  =  > 3x = 17 + 7
When RHS goes to LHS or LHS goes to RHS, symbols changes so
3x = 17 + 7 \\  =  > 3x = 24 \\  =  > x = 24 \div 3 \\  =  > x = 8
since 3 was multiply with x(RHS) we divided when it goes in LHS.

so 8 is your answer

Hope it helps dear friend ☺️✌️
