Consider the first sequence, 4 8 12

Adding all three numbers, we get

 4+8+12 = 24

Breaking 24 as 24=(2 \times 4)+(2+4)

= 8+6 = 14 .

Now, consider the second sequence 6 24 30

Adding all three numbers, we get

 6+24+30=60

Breaking 60 as (6 \times 0)+(6+0)

= 6

Consider the third sequence 2 7 8 = ?

Adding all three numbers,

 2+7+8=17

Breaking 17 as (1 \times 7)+(1+7)

= 15

Therefore, 15 is the required answer.
