SOLUTION:
Given:
Four resistances each of 1 ohm connected in series.
Let the four resistances be R1, R2, R3 ,R4 connected in series then their resultant resistance R:
R= R1 + R2+ R3+R4
R1= 1Ω, R2= 1Ω, R3= 1Ω, R4=1Ω(Given)
Resultant resistance (R)= 1+1+1+1
R= 4Ω
Hence, the resultant resistance is equal to 4 ohms.

When it is said its is connected in series then
Total resistance(R) = r1 + r2 + r3 + r4
= (1+1+1+1)ohm
= 4ohm
Total resistance(R) = r1 + r2 + r3 + r4
= (1+1+1+1)ohm
= 4ohm
