let x be the area of smaller square and y for larger
x + y =464 m^2
y-4x=144 m^2

from 1 eqn
y=464-x
put this in eqn 2
464-x-4x=144
-5x=144-464
x=320/5
x=64.
y=400.

area of square= (side)^2
so side of first square = 8
side of larger square=20

side of smaller square= 8

royboy: plz mark as brainliest..
joban12: thanks
royboy: welcime
joban12: side smaller square should be 8
royboy: ok
royboy: it was a little mistake
royboy: I have edited that
joban12: thanks a lot
