let x be the area of smaller square and y for larger
x + y =464 m^2
y-4x=144 m^2
from 1 eqn
y=464-x
put this in eqn 2
464-x-4x=144
-5x=144-464
x=320/5
x=64.
y=400.
area of square= (side)^2
so side of first square = 8
side of larger square=20
side of smaller square= 8
x + y =464 m^2
y-4x=144 m^2
from 1 eqn
y=464-x
