if 4 x square + Y square= 40 and XY=6 find the value of 2x + Y.​

Answer:

4x^2 + y^2=40.....(i)

xy=6......(ii)

from (ii),

x=y/6

putting value of x in (i),

4(y/6)^2+y^2=40

(4y^2)/36+y^2=40

y^2/9+y^2=40

(y^2+9y^2)/9=40

10y^2=360

y^2=36

y=6

thus,

x=y/6=6/6=1

hence

x=1 & y=6

now,

2x+y

= 2*1+6

=2+6

=8
