Hence, (2x+y)²= (2x)²+2*xy+(y)²= 40+2*6= 52

Or, 2x+y= √52=2√13

(2x-y)²=(2x)²-2*xy+(y)²= 40-2*6

Or , 2x-y = √ 28= 2√7
