Answer:

1.75 of that number is 10.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given -

\frac{5}{3} of a number is 10

To find -

1.75 times of that number

Solution -

Let , that number is x

We can write given information as,

\frac{5}{3}\times x= 10

As, we want to find value of x shift all data of left side to right it becomes \frac{3}{5}

It becomes,

x = 10 \times \frac{3}{5}

Divide 10 by 5 we get

x= 2 \times 3

x = 6

The number is 6 .

1.75 of that number = 1.75 \times 6

1.75 of that number = 10.50

So,

1.75 of that number is 10.5

Given: 5/3of a number is10.

We have to find the 1.75times of that number.

  • By using the concept of equation shifting, we are solving the above
  • equation.
  • For this, we will separate the variables on one side and the constant on
  • another side.
  • Then, we will simplify the equation.

We are solving in the following way:

We have,

5/3of a number is10.

Let assume the number bex.

So, from the above statement we can write:

\Rightarrow \frac{5}{3} \times x=10\\\\\Rightarrow\frac{5x}{3} =10\\\\\Rightarrow 5x=10\times3\\\\\Rightarrow5x=30\\\\\Rightarrow x=\frac{30}{5}

Solving the above equation further we get,

\Rightarrow x=6

Hence, the number will be6.

So, 1.75times of the number will be:

\Rightarrow 1.75\times 6\\\\\Rightarrow  \frac{21}{2} \\\\\Rightarrow  10.5

Hence, 1.75times of the number is10.5.
