Answer:

If 5 books cost Rs.55 then the cost of 1 book is RS.11…( 55÷5=11 ~i.e. cost of the books divided by the no. of books)…! So if 1 book cost is RS.11 then cost of 12 books is Rs.132…( 11×12=132~i.e. cost of a single book is multiplied by the no.of books)….!

Bonus tip: To multiply a 2 digit no. by 11…just add that two numbers and place that sum in between the two digits…eg: 11×12=132 , 11×63=693,etc..and for any number of digits multiplying with 11 is easy by this following method: Put the first and last digit of the question in the answer then insert the sums of adjacent pairs of digits sequentially in between…eg: 253×11 begins with a 2 ( like 253 does),then the next digit is 2+5=7,the next digit is 5+3=8 and the last digit is 3 (like 253 has). So the product is 2783. Remember to carry if necessary. Eg: 267×11 starts with a 2 ( like 267 does), the next digit is 2+6=8, the next digit is 6+7=13 ( so carry the 1 back to the previous digit, leaving a 3 in this place), then the last digit is 7 ( just like 267 has). Thus the product is 2937 !!
