The number 5 is subtracted from 3 times a number 'n' , then the result is 16.

Let the number be 'n'

According to the question,

\large\bold{⇒3n  - 5 = 16}

Now, Solving the equation

\large\bold{⇒3n = 16 + 5}

\large\bold{⇒3n \:  = 21}

\large\bold{⇒n =  \frac{21}{3} }

\large\bold{⇒n = 7}

Hence the Number Is 7 . (3×7 - 5 = 16)

So for the verification of whether our answer is correct or not we should put the value itself into the equation and then equate it if it follows the equation equal then we should consider our answer as correct. By the use of the graphing method and also by using the elimination method we can solve the equations.
