x = 5 if 5 is one of roots.

2(5²)+k(5)-75 = 0

2(25) + 5k - 75 = 0

50 - 75 + 5k = 0

5k = 25

k = 5 .

Hope helped !

2x^2+kx-75=0
if x=5,
2(5)^2 + k(5) - 75 = 0
2(25) + 5k - 75 = 0
50 + 5k - 75 = 0
-25 = -5k
k = -25/-5 = 5
