We know average vel.=total dist/total time

Let distance be x

So, for first vel, time taken=x/5

and for second vel, time taken=x/10

now average vel=x+x/(x/5+x/10)

=2x/(2x+x/10)

=2x/3x/10

=2x*10/3x

=20/3m/s

=6.66?/s
