The pressure of the system will be

(a) 200 torr

According to Boyle's Law, we know that:

P₁V₁ = P₂V₂

Here, P₁ = 400 torr

V₁ = 500 mL = 0.5 L   [1mL = 0.001L]

V₂ = 3L

To find P₂

P₂ = (P₁V₁ )/V₂

= (400*0.5)/3 torr

= 66.67 torr

Again P₁' = 600 torr

V₁' = 666.6 mL = 0.6666 L

So, P₂' = (P₁'V₁' )/V₂

= (600*0.6666)/3 torr

= 133.32 torr

Total pressure = P₂ + P₂'

= (66.67 + 133.32) torr

= 200 torr

Option (a) is correct.
