Answer:

(5x+14)+(4x-5)=90°

5x+14+4x-5=90°

9x+9=90°

9×=90-9

9x=81

x=9

Now put the value of x

(5x+14)

5×9+14

45+14=59

(4x-5)

4×9-5

36-5=31

The angle are 59° and 31°

SOLUTION

GIVEN

(5x+14) , (4x-5) are complementary angles

TO DETERMINE

The angles

EVALUATION

Here it is given that (5x+14) , (4x-5) are complementary angles

We know that two angles are said to be complementary if sum of the angles = 90°

Thus we get

5x + 14° + 4x - 5° = 90°

⇒ 9x + 9° = 90°

⇒ 9x = 81°

⇒x = 9°

Hence we get -

First angle = 59°

Second angle = 31°
