and

6x - 4y = 1600 .............(2)


Multiply by 3 in (2) and by 4 in (1)

Then equation became..

20x - 12y = 7200

18x - 12y = 4800.......(substract the given eq. )

2x = 2400 ..

x = 2400/2

x = 1200
