NaHCO3 + HCl → Residue + CO2

Weight of reactants = weight of NaHCO3 + weight of HCl

= 6.3 + 10 = 16.3g

Weight of product = weight of residue + weight of CO2

=12 + x

x → weight of CO2 released.

According to law of conservation of mass

Weight of reactants = weight of products

16.3 = 12 + x

x = 16.3 12 = 4.3g

Weight of CO2 released =4.3g
