Answer:

Numbers are x = 30 and y = 30.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Two numbers be x and y .

 Since we know that 60 is divided into two parts so,

               x + y = 60  ------------ [Equation 1]

It is also given that two numbers product is 15 times their sum i.e. ,

             x*y = 15 * (x+y)

            x*y = 15 * 60         { because x+y=60}

            x*y = 900  ------------- [Equation 2]

 Substituting value of y from equation 1 into equation 2 we get,

                 x*(60 - x) = 900

                 x^{2} - 60x + 900 = 0

                x^{2} - 30x - 30x + 900 = 0   {Using Middle term splitting method}

               x(x - 30) - 30(x - 30) = 0

      So, from here we gt x = 30.

Now putting value of x in equation 1 we get, y = 60 - 30 = 30 .

Therefore, two numbers are x = 30 and y = 30.
