\huge\underline\mathrm{SOLUTION:-}

Given That:

  • \mathsf {a = \frac{1}{2}\:and\:b = \frac{3}{4} }

(i) a × b = b × a

 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times  \frac{3}{4}  =  \frac{3}{4}  \times  \frac{1}{2}

\mathsf {L.H.S =  \frac{1}{2}  \times  \frac{3}{4}  =  \frac{3}{8} }

\mathsf {R.H.S = \frac{3}{4}  \times  \frac{1}{2}  =  \frac{3}{8} }

Thus:

  • a × b = b × a. (Verified)

(ii) a + b = b + a

 =  \frac{1}{2}  +  \frac{3}{4}  =  \frac{3}{4}  +  \frac{1}{2}

\mathsf {L.H.S=  \frac{1}{2}  +  \frac{3}{4}  =  \frac{5}{4} }

\mathsf {R.H.S =  \frac{3}{4}  +  \frac{1}{2}  =  \frac{5}{4} }

Thus:

  • a + b = b + a. (Verified)

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

1. (1/2) (3/4) = (3/4)(1/2)

3/8= 3/8

2. 1/2 + 3/4 = 3/4 + 1/2

2+3/4 = 3 + 2/4

6/4 = 6/4

3/2 = 3/2
