Given :–

  • An equation, 7a + b + c = 2abc.
  • Value of a = 1.
  • Value of b = –2.
  • Value of c = –1.

To Find :–

  • Show that, 7a + b + c = 2abc.

Solution :–

An equation,

→ 7a + b + c = 2abc

Given that,

  • a = 1
  • b = –2
  • c = –1

Now, substitute all the given values in equation (1),

7(1) + ( - 2) + ( - 1) = 2(1)( - 2)( - 1)

7 \times 1 + ( - 2) + ( - 1) = 2 \times 1 \times (- 2) \times ( - 1)

We know that,

  • Positive × Positive = Positive.
  • Negative × Negative = Positive.
  • Positive × Negative = Negative.
  • Negative × Positive = Negative.

So,

7 - 2 - 1 = 2( 2)

7 - 3 = 2 \times 2

4 = 4

Since, the left hand side (L.H.S.) and the right hand side (R.H.S.) are equal.

So, the values of a = 1 , b = 2 and c = 1 are correct and also 7a + b + c = 2abc is correct.
