 Given \: a = -10 \:and \: b = 4

 i ) a - b \\= -10 - 4 \\= -14 \: --(1)

 ii ) b - a \\= 4 - ( -10 ) \\= 4 + 10 \\= 14 \: --(2)

/* From (1) and (2), we conclude that */

 - 14 \pink { < } 14

 \implies (a - b ) \pink { < } \: ( b - a )

Therefore.,

 \green { (a - b ) \pink { < } \: ( b - a ) }
