If A(-14,6), B(2,-2), C(2,5) are the vertices of a triangle ABC, find the length of the median through A.

Pls help me

Anonymous: find the midpoint of BC then apply distance formula between A and that point !
Heythe: I tried but I’m not able to solve it
Heythe: Actually my answer is in fraction. I wanna know that it is correct or not
Anonymous: ok length can be in fraction no worries and i guess it wud come in fraction only ! so u maybe correct
Heythe: Oh ok thanx

Answer:

16.62 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the mid-point be D.

Coordinates of D are:

D = [2 + 2/2, -2 + 5/2]

   = [4/2, 3/2]

   = [2,1.5]

Distance from A to D:

= √(x₁ - x₂)² + (y₁ - y₂)²

= √(-14 - 2)² + (6 - 1.5)²

= √256 + 20.25

= √276.25

= 16.62 cm.

Hope it helps!
