suppose ABCD is a parallelogram where , A (-2 , 1 ), B( a , 0 ) , C (4,6) ,D ( 1,2 ) .
we know that , opposite side of ||gm are equal
so, AD = BC .------( 1 ).
now , apply distance formula .

AD=√( x2 - x1)2 + ( y2 - y1 ) 2 [ where x2 = 1 , x1 = -2 and y2 = 2 , y1 = 1 . ]
put value yourself .... we get , √ 10 .
therefore , AD = √10 = BC. [ from 1].

similarly , DC = AB --------(2 )
again use similar formula ( I.e , distance formula ) .
we get , DC = 5 UNITS . = AB . [ FROM ... 2 ] .

Therefore , sides of parallelogram AB and DC = 5 units and AD and BC = √10 units .
