let the x-axis divide the line joining points (-4,-6) & (-1,7) in the ratio k:1.
Therefore,by using section formula,
my2+ny1/m+n= Y coordinate
k×7+1×(-6)/k+1= 0
7k-6=0
7k=6
k=6/7

x-axis divide the line joining the points (-4,-6) & (-1,7) in the ratio 6:7.....

also, by using mid point formula,
x1+x2/2=X
-4-1/2=X
X=-5

Therefore,(x,0)=(-5,0)

niti13: the ration is 6 : 7 not 1: 1
imkunal2u: it is dividing the line in a ratio...
imkunal2u: it is correct or not??? tell me...
niti13: this must be given in you course that it is mid point
niti13: your*
niti13: but here it is not mid point
imkunal2u: it is correct or not???plzzz
niti13: no ... it is wrong ...
niti13: we can't use mid point formula over there
imkunal2u: okay...then look for some one else answer....so sorry...
